This year is set to be a very exciting year with our continued sponsorship of Aron Taylor-Smith in the KwikFit British Touring Car Championship – This will be Aron’s 9th season competing in the BTCC and his first season with Power Maxed Racing.
Aron, started his racing career in karts, coincidentally at the same track as team mate Andrew Watson, then, progressed to cars, he is a very talented young driver with a spectacular history of multiple wins in the BTCC and has been a member of the paddock for many years as before stepping in to BTCC he was a contender in the popular Clio cup.
Having visited the podium in the BTCC no less than 18 times amassing 5 outright race wins, he has experience of running with Championship winning team mates such as Jason Plato and Colin Turkington and is now very excited to bring all that experience across to PMR as they work together to both get back to winning ways.
Power Maxed Racing welcomes his wealth of knowledge and driver experience to the team, his belief in himself and above all his burning desire to win.
Aron Taylor Smith said “This is a dream come true for me, the dream after this is to win another race in the BTCC and the dream after that is to fight for a championship. I have watched what Adam and his Team have put together over the years, and have seen what their car is capable of on the track, I know their desire matches mine when it comes to success, we have tried to get a deal done in the past and its never quite come together so I am beyond happy that it has this year. Visiting the workshop and seeing what they have done over the winter, I have never been more confident going in to a season”
Team Principal Adam Weaver clearly beamed with joy when questioned why he had put so much effort behind getting Aron Taylor-Smith in a Power Maxed Racing Astra stating “He is just a great guy, his enthusiasm is contagious and more of that in a team can never be a bad thing. I know Aron and Andrew will get on brilliantly and I’m really looking forward to Aron being a part of this team. It’s everything we have been working towards and I have never been this excited about the BTCC year ahead.”
